What is Bacterial Pneumonia?
When the lungs of any person is affected by bacterial, the situation is called a condition of Bacterial Pneumonia. People suffering with pneumonia generally complain of coughing, fever, shortness of breath, and chest pain. It is generally caused when the immunity of person low and is not able to keep the lungs safe from bacteria, which is called inflammation. In this disease, lungs become less elastic and cannot take oxygen, resulting fever and chest pain.

Streptococcus pneumoniae, staphylococcus aureus, mycoplasma pneumoniae, klebsiella, and actinomyces (fungi) are some of the organism responsible for this infection.

The nature of antibiotic and treatment is prescribed according to the sensitivity of the organism isolated from the cough secretions of the patient. It can be diagnosed by classical chest X-ray to find out the congestion in the chest.

Apart from this, pulse –ox test is also suggested to figure out the situation. The test is basically conducted to test the oxygen level in your body. If the oxygen level is low, a person might be affected with the disease.

During the treatment doctors may also check your immune systems. If is not ready to fight against the disease, you are given extra antibiotics to increase your immunity.

If you suspect pneumonia based on the signs or symptoms, it is wise to see your doctor as soon as possible. Unfortunately , there is no home treatment available for pneumonia. However, cough suppressants, expectorants, or fever-lowering drugs may be helpful, but these should be consumed only after meeting any doctor. Antibiotics are the best to fight against the disease, which depends upon the nature of the infection.

The treatment can be carried out with three different methods including Treatment of gram-positive organisms, Treatment of gram-negative organisms, and Treatment of atypical organisms.
