Hemorrhoids are swollen veins in the anal canal. This common problem can be painful, but not serious. Cause If someone strain to move stool, the increased pressure causes the veins in this tissue to swell and stretch. This can cause hemorrhoids. Symptoms Bleeding during bowel movements,Itching,Rectal pain. Diagnosis By physical exam Treatment Patient should slowly add fiber to his/her meals, drink more water, and use over-the-counter ointments to stop itching. Surgery to remove hemorrhoids may be done . |
